This red oak bowl has a unique shape because it’s from the crotch section of the tree, created when two branches split off the main trunk. It comes from my mother and father-in-law’s property after a tornado felled a number of their trees and damaged their house. While cleaning up, my wife searched out the right logs for turning and brought them home. I hate the storm caused damage and took down healthy trees, but it’s a privilege to create out of that destruction.
